*At work... reflecting on life.*

May 23, 2005 ~ 1:06 a.m.

With all the free time I got.

Let's recap, it's been about a week. The new job is crazy. 11pm-7am, most shifts. Incredibly easy, about an hours worth of work and then downtime. A few stragglers come in but that's it.

This is the first night they left me by myself. Kinda nervous, but nothing has come up that I couldn't handle just yet. :)

But working these shifts are killing me. 7am-2pm at GC, 7pm-7am (today) here at the Quality Inn, 9:30am-2pm at GC, 3pm-11pm at QI.

So, for Sunday and Monday, I'm working about 32 hours straight.

We're in the money. I have 81 beds here at QI and I can't sleep in a damn one of them :P

Buddy's are back in town, it's good to see them. Everyone looks good. Went to El Tapatio (the restaurant adjacent to the hotel) on Wednesday night, and Gio Como's (the new italian joint) on Friday.

El Tapatio's is OK, CHEAP prices for cheap food. Jalapeno's (when you got the money) > Tapatio's.

I had one hell of an experience at Gio Como's. Only italian joint in town, and it blew for us. Cold spaghetti, uncooked noodles and chicken... out of the 8 of us, I was the only one who got my money back :D hahahaha. Even at Tapatio's, I only had to pay like $6 for my and Sabrina's meal. Just a lucky spree, I guess.

On Wednesday, Sabrina, Charlie, Charlie's cousin (name?) and I went down and saw the final Star Wars. It was depressing, and *SPOILER* if you weren't rooting for the Sith, you are going to be disappointed.

I don't know why, everyone KNOWS what is going to happen, but no one wants to ruin it. Hmmm. It was very fun, watching light saber duels and seeing about 85% of the theater having some techie device, whether it be a PSP, a laptop or DVD player, or just a cell phone. It was a blast.

Weekend has been slow, but tiring. Not much of a chance to catch up on sleep and stuff - but payday is this week! $320 from GC, probably $180 from QI. It'll be nice to get 2 60+ hour paychecks every two weeks. :P

So about $500 this week, right? Guess how it boils down:

$100 to credit card - $50-100 to Mom (depending on whether or not I wanna get her a gift... more on that in a second) - $100 to Charlie - Charlie is selling me his PSP FOR $100! I can't get a fucking better deal than that, so I'm going to take it, even if it is just for the hardware - I don't need to buy a game to enjoy that damn thing. - $80 for Warped Tour tickets (oh yeah, told Sabrina we were going to Warped Tour)

So that leaves me with... $120 or so, depending on whether I give Mom $50 or $100. The only thing I really see needing in 2 weeks is spending cash for food, and a haircut. MMMM, a haircut.

I owe Mom $100, $50 for the advance on my paycheck and $50 which is going to be credited to the cell phone bill for my cell phone breaking ( I NEED TO SEND THAT PHONE IN! ) Noted - by Thursday.

Broke my cell phone at work. Son of a bitch.

So yeah, crazy stuff happening. I've been writing this entry for about 10 minutes, not a single bit of business. I'll try to keep writing until I get something :P

The job here is better than at GC. If they paid me more and gave me 40 hours a week, I'd quit GC. The only perk I get at GC is... free food, sometimes. Seniority also helps a bit.

Here at QI: $25 employee discount. $35 friends and family discount. 10% off the restaurant food (which sometimes is like 50-75%, depending on who rings you up), free drinks (PEPSI!), 50% off Pizza Hut, 50% off Domino's, and a few other things.

Oh, and did I mention I don't do a whole lot of work? :D I finally got a gravy job. If I could get paid like $7/hour... hmmmmm

So much freedom. I walk around a lot, making sure everything's OK. It's a simple job, just a LOT to remember, but there's a couple checklists to make sure that everything big gets done. Haven't broken anything yet, let's keep it that way :D

I'm all by myself too. Sabrina brought me dinner (The 22nd was my folk's 23rd anniversary. Shit), and sat around and talked with me from about 8-11. I had no business in that time. :D

I don't get it. My Dad is back for their anniversary, but I don't see him for months at a time - wait, I just had some business. 30 seconds out of my day. :D

The deal about the hotel is a lot of construction is going on. If you wanted to stay at the QI in Durant, you could for reasonably cheap. Just bitch about the construction :P

Because of it, all of our double occupancy rooms are GONE. We have 1 available, but we keep it for the truckers/work crews that come up. In the past 2 days, we've had 16 people not be able to get a room because of the double occupancy shit. So yeah. It's real easy to tell people that we don't have double rooms... so they leave.

Back to my Dad, I don't see him for months at a time, and then he comes back and celebrates 23 years with my Mom? Hmmm.

Estranged, yes.

It's 1:30, and I have another hour and a half to kill before I have anymore work to do. Any ideas? :P Trying to whore some forums and IM people, it's not working too well.

I GET PAID TO SIT ON MY ASS! FINALLY!
